DEPARTMENT OF TB & CD 1.INTRODUCTION: Department of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Medicine. This department is headed by a Pulmonologist. It co-exists with the Government Staff. Efficiently worhing in order to treat respiratory aliments. HODs from 1-1-1987 to till date.
2.PROGRAMME OFFERED: Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme: A global programme sponsored by WHO, to treat Tuberculosis cases. Since its inception inAugust 2003, RNTCP has done wonders in tackling TB. 3.FACILITIES: We have a designated Microscopy centre which detects Sputum AFB – key point in diagnosing TB. We have a directly observed treatment shortcourse (DOTs) centre, where drugs are provided free of cose for the entire duration of treatment. 4.FACULTIES: Nodal Officer : Prof. V.Lakshmaiah - HOD of Medicine. 5.HIGHLIGHTS: Both diagnosis & treatment of TB are free of cost and hence there is no financial burden on the patient. WE have an excellent referral mechanism for providing free treatment to patients from far off places. 6.CONFERENCES: Zonal Task Force Conference is attended by the Nodal Officer every year. This year Prof. V.Lakshmaiah attended ZTF in Trivandrum – Kerala. |
