Introduction:


Since its establishment in the year 1994 at Sri RL Jalappa Hospital and Research Centre, department is providing specialized care to the rural population of Kolar and surrounding districts. Department is also actively engaged in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and pursuing research and publication activities.

Programme Offered:


MD in Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy. Postgraduate course was started in the year 1998(one MD/year) and MCI approval obtained in the year 2001.

Facilities:


The department is equipped with the following instruments/equipments for patient care and treatment.

    1. Cryosurgery equipments
    2. Electro-cautery machine
    3. Electrolysis machine
    4. Iontophoresis machine
    5. Whole-body PUVA/ NBUVB chamber
    6. Instruments for doing minor procedures.

The department offers the following speciality services,

  • Sexually transmitted disease clinic
  • Leprosy clinic
  • Pigmentary disorder clinic with PUVA therapy facility
  • Contact dermatitis clinic
  • Minor OT facilities for procedures like biopsies, cautery and other skin surgeries (Vitiligo surgery and Chemical peeling).
